Supersize Your #GivingTuesday!

This November 28th, join the movement and give! #GivingTuesday connects diverse groups of individuals, communities and organizations around the world for one common purpose: to celebrate and encourage giving. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, as many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. One of the best ways to get involved is in your own community.

Show how much you care about Mental Health Association Oklahoma’s work in your community. Get started by choosing a path below!

1. Invent Your Share Your Care Campaign: The holiday season is the perfect time to remember why we want to give back, it’s an opportunity to give in a BIGGER way than making a one-time donation! Why are you passionate about helping people in need? Maybe you have a personal story about a family member or close friend impacted by mental illness, homelessness or suicide? Share your powerful story to inspire your friends and family to join your effort to give back during the holiday season and watch your campaign make a huge impact! You can even get super creative and tie a campaign into your holiday party, upcoming 5K, or any fun event around an activity, anniversary, birthday, or graduation!

Sign-up today and we promise it will be super simple! We’ll reach out to you right away and get you set-up with your very own website page and donation page that will feature your story and have a place to donate to the Association. It’s an easy way for you to reach out to your family, friends, and co-workers to support a mission near to your heart.

2. Matching Gifts: Make your donation go even farther by having your company or organization do a matching gift. Or reach out to our awesome Director of Development Lisa Turner if you’re interested in providing the match yourself. Contact her via email at lturner@mhaok.org or by phone at 918.382.2410.

3. Facebook and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation are matching $2 million for U.S. nonprofits on Facebook!

Starting at 8 am (EST) on November 28, donations made through Facebook’s charitable giving tool will be matched up to $50,000 per nonprofit – that’s amazing! Facebook is also waiving all fees, so 100% of what you give on the platform will go directly back to helping those impacted by mental illness and homelessness.

4. Help Us Fill Backpacks: Consider donating supplies that we are filling backpacks with to give to those living on the streets. You can bring gently used or new items to our Tulsa or OKC headquarters.
