The community bands together to offer holiday help to those in need

It’s that time of year again – when we don the fuzzy socks, enjoy the cozy warmth of hot chocolate, and laugh our way through holiday gatherings. What a magical season it is for many.

For many others, however, this time of year is a greater exercise in survival skills. It is a nomadic period of trying to stay warm and dry and sated. It is a time that many are just trying to “get through.”

And it is our mission to help.

As the state’s premier boots-on-the-ground nonprofit, most of our work happens where homelessness meets mental health struggles, and we have a team of experts who go out into the community and directly serve those experiencing these challenges. If you see someone in need, our Street Outreach and Street Medicine teams in both Oklahoma City and Tulsa can be reached on our website . Additionally, our free Mental Health Assistance Center can be reached at 405.943.3700 or 918.585.1213.

In addition to veteran services, social connection, and hygiene needs, Lottie House and Denver House, our peer-run drop-in centers in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, respectively, give people a warm place to land for the day.
