MHAOK partners with Metropolitan Library System to host suicide prevention training during Suicide Awareness Month

Mental Health Association Oklahoma (MHAOK) has partnered with the Metropolitan Library System to host a free Question Persuade Refer (QPR) training next month. QPR is an evidence-based suicide prevention training for lay people. Think CPR for the brain. The training gives attendees the skills and confidence to ask a question and save a life, and it is designed for individuals both in and outside of the mental health industry.

The most recent suicide data released by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) reports that we lost 857 Oklahomans to suicide, and it is the 10th leading cause of death in our state.

The QPR training will held from 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, September 12th at the Capitol Hill Library (327 SW 27th, OKC). It is free to attend, but registration is required. Visit this link to secure your spot.
