A Better Way in Tulsa and Oklahoma City

A Better Way (Oklahoma City and Tulsa) was made possible through a collaboration between the cities of Oklahoma City and Tulsa, the Hille Foundation, Tulsa Authority for the Recovery of Energy (TARE), Mental Health Association Oklahoma, the Maxine and Jack Zarrow Family Foundation, United Way of Central Oklahoma, The Inasmuch Foundation and the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.

How It Works

A Better Way in Tulsa and OKC offers change by:

    • Offering an alternative to panhandling for people experiencing homelessness.
    • Paying participants a full day’s wages to beautify our community each day.
    • Connecting participants with life-changing services in the community such as mental health services and addiction treatment, housing and other sustainable employment services.

When Does it Operate?

The A Better Way van is in operation three days a week in both Tulsa and Oklahoma City. Participants can call 918-518-1134 in Tulsa or 405-943-3700 in OKC to sign up to participate with A Better Way program.
